Step 1: Establish business structure
ABC Furniture sells goods through Acme Retail Marketplace, and the funds from its transactions must reach the account associated with ABC Furniture's creditor.
Objective: Define the marketplaces, merchants, creditors (including their advancement terms), and merchant-to-marketplace relationships.
What AcmePay establishes
AcmePay completes the onboarding and entity-relationship setup using the applicable APIs/endpoints.
| API/endpoint | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Create marketplace | Creates the marketplace business structure. |
| Create merchant | Creates participating merchants and their creditors. |
| Link marketplace to merchants | Associates merchants with a marketplace. |
AcmePay defines the ABC Furniture Creditor Account in the creditor object of the Create merchant request. Because advancement terms belong to the creditor, not to creditor operations, AcmePay decides here whether ABC Furniture's receivables can be advanced and sets the creditor's advancement_fee, discount_rate, and maximum_advancement_percentage. These terms apply to all of ABC Furniture's sale transactions.
At this point, Seller management contains the business entities and associations needed to identify ABC Furniture, evaluate transactions in the Acme Retail Marketplace context, and direct resulting settlement funds to the applicable creditor account.
