Evaluation outcomes

Review creditor operation outcomes

After a merchant transaction is submitted, Seller management automatically evaluates it against the matching creditor operation, using the transaction's processing code, installment count, marketplace, and creditor context. The results appear in the receivables schedule, which you can monitor in Control Center or through APIs.

Which creditor operation applies

When more than one creditor operation could apply to a transaction, Seller management uses the operation with the most recent start_date that is not in the future. This is what makes start-date versioning work. Refer to Schedule a pricing change for more information.

Receivables schedule

After evaluation, Seller management adds the resulting payment activity to the merchant's receivables schedule: the expected flow of funds owed to the merchant over time. The schedule is the basis for scheduled settlement, receivables advancement, and payment forecasting. It includes:

  • Scheduled payment dates, based on the settlement timing rules and installment count
  • Rates and fees applied to each transaction
  • Future receivables available for advancement
  • Daily summaries of merchant payment activity

Monitor receivables

You can monitor the same receivables information in Control Center or through APIs. Control Center suits day-to-day review; the APIs let you integrate schedules with internal systems, reporting, and operational workflows.

In Control Center

The Control Center calendar presents scheduled payments by date, so you can review future payment activity and settlement dates.

Through APIs

Use the List merchant transactions v2 endpoint to review scheduled payments and settlement status for a merchant. You can filter by status, startPaymentDate and endPaymentDate, startEventDate and endEventDate, and authorizationId, and paginate with page and perPage (default 10). List merchant transactions v3 of the endpoint is also available. By default, this endpoint returns only 60 days of transactions.

Settlement

Settlement transfers the net amount owed to the merchant to its creditor account on the settlement date, according to the receivables schedule produced by the applicable creditor operation. The creditor operation determines when settlement occurs, how installments affect payment timing, and which fees are deducted before settlement. Seller management supports settlement inside Pismo by internal transfer and outside Pismo by external transfer. A merchant with no net amount due on a given date produces no settlement. For examples, refer to How merchant settlements and installments are processed.

To monitor settlement, use the Control Center views or the List merchant transactions v2 endpoint described in Monitor receivables. For a per-settlement confirmation that includes the gross amount, net amount, and applied fees, subscribe to the Merchant settlement created event (version 2). When no settlement is raised for the period, Seller management generates a Merchant settlement not settled event. Each settled transaction also generates a Merchant transaction settled event.

Receivables advancement

Receivables advancement lets merchants access future receivables before their scheduled settlement date. The advancement fee, discount rate, and maximum advancement percentage are set on the creditor. Refer to Advancement terms for more information.

Receivables are scheduled first, and advancement is requested against them. Advancement does not rewrite the original receivables: the original schedule remains, and the advancement is represented by additional offsetting entries. When real_time_settlement is true, the advanced amount settles immediately rather than in the next settlement window.

When an advancement occurs, the creditor's advancement discount rate and fee may be applied to the scheduled amount. This is separate from the deductions (MDR, fixed transaction fee, and custom fees) applied when the transaction was evaluated.

When the advancement transaction is created, Seller management generates a Merchant transaction created event and a Merchant advancement transaction created event.
