Pix overview
Pix is an instant payments system that enables the execution of digital payments and fund transfers in Brazil. It is managed by the Banco Central do Brasil (BCB). Pix transactions are executed in real time from a linked bank account. To send an instant payment or transfer, a Pix user needs only the recipient's Pix key or a QR code.
Pismo currently supports indirect participation in Pix through a sponsoring bank: BTG Pactual. BTG is the direct participant in the Pix network and provides connectivity to the Instant Payment System (SPI), which is the centralized infrastructure for instant payments settlement between different service providers in Brazil. The SPI is operated by the BCB.
There are two APIs involved in the Pix integration:
- pix-dict-api provides endpoints for key management and infraction reports
- pix-api provides endpoints for transactions
